Getting married is something that most people all over the world look forward to,finding someone that is compatible to spend the rest of our lives with,maybe raise a family
The traditional couple is usually a man and a woman,these days is some cases it is two people of the same sex,two women or two men form this companionship and some,not all couples just like the traditional couples,a few of them would like to have a marriage certificate simply saying-on this day john and tony or mary and sally were married at this location.
However it has been a long hard fight between the powers that be and these people that want to get married,many of these people have been living together longer than some people in traditional marriages,i think if they pay their taxes like every one else,love each other and have the few dollars to pay for the certificate they should be allowed to get married.
Why should they be excluded from all the good- bad- joy -pain- hurt - sorrow-comfort and security that marriage has to offer, let them get married and suffer the consequences like the rest of us.

Getting married to same sex is a kind of lifestyle. As long as they love each other and didn't ruin other relationships, who are we to judge them? I have cousins who are gay and I respect their sex orientation.

I think that the important word in the title is "people" - and why should gay people be treated differently from the others are treated? Of course they should be able to get married. There should be no discrimination. And if other people don't like it that's also OK. Nobody is asking them to get into a same-sex marriage. Live and let live, don't judge because the judgement will come back at you!

God also says "Judge ye not". When they leave this earth they do not have to answer to us about their life style they have to answer to God. Some of them may get in the Pearlie Gates of Heaven quicker than those in a man and woman marriage. I think they should be allowed to get married. Who is we to tell whom someone can spend the rest of their lives with. Marriage is the conjoining of two people that loves each other and if they love each other why shouldn't they be allowed to be married. Yes let them get married they are still humans. If we stop worrying about gay marriages and start devoting all this money and time helping the homeless or making sure our kids are getting a good education then the world just might be a better place to live.

I don't believe gays should marry but I wasn't put on this earth to judge others that's God's job.. I have friends that are gay and won't turn my back on them, but like the saying goes God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.. By the way my gay friends do know my point of view but I have never hurt them for what I believe. I don't condemn them

Isn't it funny how everyone says love a person for the inside? If this is true why are gay couples discriminated? It's the inside what counts besides we should all ahve rights. I don't believe in what ''God'' said. He is judging gay people so he shalt be the one judged! Everyone can love who they want God nor anyone of us can stop them.

The Catholic church had nothing to do with marriage during church's first one thousand years, it wasnt even a sacrement. Marriage was understood as a property arrangement between families. Initially marriage had nothing to do with religion, therefor in my opinion gay marriage should be no problem religion wise.

this is from my P.O.V I'm gay and me and my partner really love each other and we want to settle down. who gives anyone else the right to decide whether two people who acre about each other and love each other can settle down together or not. Who gives you or anyone the right to impede on someone elses happiness. the beliefs this country was founded on was the bible's yes but it was founded on a stronger belief that all people were created with the right to equality, freedom and pursuit of happiness.

I see so often that people refer to the verse in Matthew 7 and really do not understand its context. It is not saying we should not judge, but that we should not judge in a manner with which we do not want to be judged. We ALL judge. Would you say don't judge about one who is on trial fot exploiting a child in pornography or has been involved in the act of human trafficking? I am not trying to make a comparrison of sins - only saying that we make judgements. And that too often people take Scripture out of context and use it to justify a position. I can, and I must make judgements every day of my life. What is clear in the Scripture is that I cannot expect to not be judged as I judge. So if I judge with a harsh spirit then I will receive the same. I can make a judgement about what the Bible calls sins and still have great compassion for the person. To judge: i.e decide, assess, distinguish is a necessary part of life. How else would we determine our world view? How else would we correct our children when there is misbehavior? And if our world view is based on the Bible, then this is the basis on which we make our assessments.

From what I remember, there are only ten commandments sent by "God".
God never said "thou shalt not have man as a wife"
Who is to say that old men (you know there's one in every neighborhood) were writing these and saw something they didnt like and decided to publicise aginst it? They did seem to have alot of time on their hands judging everyone else and not living life. Maybe these men were influenced by their wives to make laws and silly morals, hmm? Most men don't care about this. I think some women realized we don't need them, and are looking out for themselves by keeping gays from marrying. No man cares if two lesbians marry. So it has to be some of the women who are leading the protest through men. I have no proof of this but it makes sense. This is not an attack. This is a debate. Please speak intelligently and provide due diligence with research.

In the beginning God created Adam and Eve,NOT Adam and Steve.Our country is founded on God's Holy word and He said it is an abomination and a stink in His nostrals. I will never treat a gay person different from anyone else but if they ask me how I feel about their relationship,I would tell them the truth because that is what God said to do.He said the truth shall set you free. He also said to love them,love them as you would love yourself.You cannot love them and not care about their soul.I would love them through Gods eyes and would try to help them understand without feeling like I was just against them or hated them or something like that. Because their feelings matter as much as anyone elses.They are important and should not be ignored but loved.
