Some new maytag stoves comes with a feature that can put the stove in sabbath mode.
The sabbath mode is based on the jewish tradition of not working on the sabbath and special holidays, operating machinery or using appliances is considered work so this feature on the stove was created,
The stove can be placed into sabbath mode so only the bake and timed bake modes are functional,
If there is a 5ab code on the the control panel display of this MAYTAG STOVE--model--MGR5755QDB--this means that the stove is in sabbath mode.
The--5 is ised for--S
Here is how to get in and out of sabbath mode, hold clock pad down for three seconds to activate sabbath mode.
(5AB) will be displayed an flash for five seconds then displayed.
Hold clock pad down for three seconds to disengage sabbath mode
Display will go back to time of day,

Thank you so much for this post. My mom was trying to change the time on the clock but end up turning on the Sabbath mode. I have been going crazy trying to turn it off. Thank you!!
