THE MAYTAG DRYER-MODEL--SDE3606AYW,IS REALLY AN AMANA MACHINE,SINCE MAYTAG TOOK OVER THEIR OPERATIONS A WHILE BACK THEY JUST MAKE THE TOP CONSOLE A LITTLE PRETTIER THAN BEFORE AND CALL IT A MAYTAG DRYER,WHY DID THEY DO THAT,I THINK MAYTAG IS A MORE RECOGNISED NAME THAN AMANA,THE CONSUMER DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE BUYING SO THEY USUALLY GO WITH A NAME THEY KNOW AND TRUST,OR WHAT LOOK FANCY, BUT IF YOU ARE A SEASONED TECHNICIAN,AS SOON AS YOU OPEN THE APPLIANCE YOU KNOW WHAT BRAND IT IS WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE NAME THEY PUT ON IT.THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AMANA/MAYTAG DRYER IS THAT THIS MODEL HAS A BIGGER BASKET,IT WILL HOLD MORE CLOTHES THAN THE ORIGINAL MAYTAG,BUT CUSTOMERS TEND TO OVERLOAD IT, AND THIS LEADS TO DAMAGING THE IDLER PULLEY AND BELT.
