general electric stoves with electronic controls, if there is a problem it will display the problem with a F followed by a number here are some of the codes and what they mean.
F1----STUCK KEY--DAMAGE CONTROL
F2----OVEN TEMPERATURE EXCEEDS 590 DEGREES WITH DOOR UNLOCK
F3----OVEN SENSOR DEFECTED
F4----OVEN SENSOR SHORTED
F5----ELECTRONIC CONTROL NEED TO BE REPLACED
F6----THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE KEY PANEL
F7----REPLACE KEY PANEL
F8----COMPONENT FAILURE
F9----DOOR CIRCUIT---LOCK MECHANISM OR WIRING
FC----DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT FAILURE
FD----PROBE OR RECEPTACLE FAILURE
FF----ELECTRONIC CONTROL FAILURE
HOWEVER ON THE MORE EXPENSIVE MODELS AND PARTICULAR THE DOUBLE WALL OVENS THE COMPUTER CONTROL AND THE TOUCH PAD ARE TWO SEPERATE COMPONENTS.
THE TOUCH PAD IS USUALLY IN THE GLASS FRONT THAT COVERS THE CONTROL--ON THESE MODELS YOU WILL SOMETIMES GET A ---F7--CODE----
WHENEVER THERE IS A-- F7--OR--F1--ON THIS MODEL IT MEANS THE PROBLEM IS EITHER IN THE CONTROL OR IN THE TOUCH PAD.
