another dishwasher problem
62leaking water is one of the most common problems in a dishwasher --it can leak from having too much soap or a damage door--or a broken pump or hose however one rare problem that i see once every 18 nonths or so is a defective or not moving spray arm--when the dishwasher is washing the spray arm goes around spraying up water at the dishes, but if the spray arm is in a stationary position too much water going into one direction will cause the dishwasher to leak--most times a spoon or a fork will fall down in the path of the spray arm and prevent it from spining freely.
below is a picture of the electronic control board from a kitchen aid dishwasher, also a water valve.

- Whirlpool Washing Machine - Don't Wash or Spin
Washing machines made by Whirlpool, Sears, Kenmore and Kitchen Aid, these newer machines are called direct drive, the older machines used a belt and motor to drive the transmission. These direct drive machines use a coupling to drive the gearcase, this coupling is connected to the motor and the gearcase, the couplings sometimes break. When this happens the machine will take in water and drain as this does not affect the pump, when the coupler breaks, the machine will not wash or spin because the motor is not connected to the gearcase, at the end of the cycle you will find that the clothes are wet but not washed. - 4 years ago
