RULES FOR BETTER DRYING.

Never use kerosene, gasoline, or flamable cleaners in or near the dryer, do not dry items containing plastic, foam rubber or paint, these items can be damaged or they can cause a fire.

Check the label on each material to see if the manufacturer's recomend wether the material is washer and dryer safe, and if it is safe to dry, note the recomended dryer settings, if the recomended setting is low heat and you set the dryer to medium or high heat, your clothes can be damage at the end of the drying cycle.

LINT SCREEN

The lint screen is often forgotten, cleaning the lint screen before every load is a good habit to learn, once you do this every time after a while it becomes like second nature, iv'e seen a few machines that just shut down because the lint screen and vent duct is so clogged that no air can circulate.

sorting

Sorting your clothes will always get you a better dry, as opposed to just stuffing everything it at the same time, so dry the jeans, then dry the towels by themselves.

exhaust

Exhaust and lint screen are inter connected, the exaust is usually vented on the outside of the house but it begins at the lint screen, if the lint screen is damage, small pieces of laundry, socks, panties can slip through and lodge somewhere in the duct leading to the exhaust and eventually clogged the passage and stop the dryer from working.
